// Solved the missing threads crisis by swapping them out with some of my own stash (quite obvious colour differences but no one will ever know, except you of course!) and I’ve finished the top half of the kit, leaving me with but one corner to finish. I’m also trying to motivate myself to finish the zodiac signs as I’ve promised they would be « coming out soon » but I reckon I’ve stretched the definition of the word « soon » as far as it can go by now. I still have to convert them and stitch afterwards (Boy my fans must like me…)
Je m’excuse donc pour celles et ceux qui attendent la sortie de mes modeles, je procrastine, je sais c’est mal. En attendant , voila le progres fait sur le chat. // I apologise for anyone waiting on the release of my zodiac signs, I procrastinate and I know it’s naughty of me. On the bright side, I’ve made progress on the bookshelf cat though !

bonne continuation

impossible to see where you’ve swapped colours, so you obviously made a good choice!
Right now it’s just a few crosses, but I’ve made sure to finish areas where I was running out so there’s no neighbouring between old and new.
good idea
but offer still stands if you want to try and replace with Dimensions – I have some left over from a few xmas décorations which might correspond
It’s a lovely piece and much too nice to spend time looking for colour changes….
I’m just too eager to finish it and move on to the next piece, no doctor will cure me from the stitching bug !
Who needs doctors when you have a lovely piece to work on!
I love these rich colors, your swaps were true to the scheme, I can’t tell at all! This is going to be a great piece, framing it?
Thank you ;), hopefully it won’t be too visible in the end. Alas, I never frame anything I make. I enjoy stitching but if I had to put up stuff on my walls it would be much more cutesy and colourful than this. I’ll just fold it and put it in a drawer when I’m done, like every single one of my projects, oops 😛
Dear me, we must get these out and about! Too much hard work to be lying out of sight, maybe a stitchery album instead of a photo album for smaller pieces?
I’ve mostly stitched large projects so that would be a massive album, haha. I’ll have a think about it.
You’re doing so well, especially as you’re stitching on black fabric. Well done on sorting out the threads. You obviously made a perfect choice 🙂
Thank you – I honestly don’t know how I’m doing it , there’s black crosses on black aida, with black backstitch, sometimes one thread sometimes two. I tend to stitch in front of TV with little light as well, but at this point I just stitch by instinct, haha. I believe the thread swapping isn’t going to show yet as I’ve barely stitched with them, but fingers crossed shd be fine 🙂
Last time I stitched on black was when I did Cirque des Cercles. I used 14 count fabric so it was quite easy to feel the holes on the back and hope LOL.
Echoing the other comments — I can’t tell where you’ve swapped threads, they all look gorgeous! Well done with your color choices!
It’s unlikely to show just yet but touch wood it shouldn’t be too obvious later. Thank you 😉
Great progress! I like seeing those book titles come to life. That kitty is so adorable, i would like to cuddle with him along with a good read 🙂
It does bring satisfaction to stitch the titles on. That cat defies the laws of physics however as its stretching behind several books. I bet the real cat must look like a snake 😛
Haha, never thought of that!
I hadn’t seen the bookshelf cat previously. That’s going to be delicious!
I’m so close to the end too 🙂
Love this embroidery (Have I said that before? )!!!
You have but you can never say it enough ! Maybe a future project for yourself ? 😛
I wish, but right now I have no time 🙂
Love this design, great progress too 🙂
Thank you 🙂
Great progress this time
I have to admit I binge cross stitch, if I’m adament on finishing a cross stitch I can put in severla hours on weekends just cause I’m so eager to see the final result.
I love all the detail in this. Stitching on black gets easier as you go, or that’s what I found.
It does indeed, I basically stitch by touch more than eyesight, I think that’s where my mom struggles cause she hates black aida :O
what’s this? knocking old mum and her old eyes are we?
Love this design. It really jumps off the background. I would have done the same thing with the thread crisis. Swapping out for a different similar colour in a separate area doesn’t often cause a problem. Great work!!!
It’s exactly what I’ve done and it seems to hold up (touch wood) – Thank you very much 🙂
I am not a cat fan, however this bookcase is adorable
You’re project is looking great. I have liked this one for a long time.
