Though I made quite a lot of progress over the last three weeks, I’m developing carpal tunnel in my dominant hand. I’ve given cross stitch a break this week as I’ve been wearing a splint for 5-6 weeks now with mild improvement. I don’t think my hand will ever fully heal so I’m just trying to take it easy. Am hoping I’m at least past the half way mark now or finishing in time this year will be tricky !

you’re right to slow down and take a rest! You use your hands a lot, including typing on keyboard all day for work, so they’re under a lot of strain. Wondering whether a pair onf Handeze gloves would help, once hand is improved enough to take the splint off, to give extra support on a daily basis.
Sorry about your hand problem, we do use them a lot. You have made good progress despite the hand issue. Perhaps sewing every other evening with total rest in between might help.
I don’t get carpel tunnel syndrome, but I have arthritis in the thumbs of both hands so I feel your pain. Rest is the best remedy barring surgery. I hope you feel much better soon.
I love this pattern, it’s so pretty! So sorry about your hands.
Sorry to hear about your stitching hand! Rest is definitely key. I have tendonitis and the splint when I sleep is helpful. A little progress here and there will add up 🙂
Ouch! This brings back memories. Exercises worked for me.
Bummer! When I was on the computer at work I had to get a special mouse that supported my hand and that made a big difference. I feel your pain!
Hoping for relief and healing for you soon ~
Take care of your hands! They are supposed to work forever. If your Christmas stocking isn´t finished this Christmas, there´s always next Christmas!
