Over the recent weeks I’ve had the pleasure/bad idea to discover Korean dramas on Netflix and have been binging them. It makes cross stitch a little harder with all the subtitles reading involved but it’s nice not to spend 1h picking what to watch lately. Do you also have favorite foreign shows?// Ces derniers temps je ne savais plus trop quoi regarder sur Netflix avant de découvrir qu’ils ont moulte drama coréen (historiques et autre). Inutile de dire que je m’en suis fait un marathon même si c’est difficile de broder et lire les sous titres. Et vous, ya t’il des séries étrangères qui vous plaisent ??

Hand still hurts a little and also had the displeasure of catching COVID, so all in all I haven’t been up to much lately // Ma main va un peu mieux mais je dois toujours faire attention, entre ça et le COVID je n’ai pas fait grand chose ces dernières semaines.

Though I made quite a lot of progress over the last three weeks, I’m developing carpal tunnel in my dominant hand. I’ve given cross stitch a break this week as I’ve been wearing a splint for 5-6 weeks now with mild improvement. I don’t think my hand will ever fully heal so I’m just trying to take it easy. Am hoping I’m at least past the half way mark now or finishing in time this year will be tricky ! // J’ai beaucoup avancé en deux semaines mais j’ai pris du repos la dernière, je souffre de syndrome de canal carpien donc je porte une attelle depuis plusieurs semaines avec peu d’amélioration. J’espère que j’ai suffisamment brodé jusque là pour finir à temps cette année mais ça risque d’être difficile.

SAL – Christmas sled, 05/06

Took advantage of bank holidays to book another week off, mostly played Fallout 4 non-stop. I was in need of a geeky, unproductive week. Still managed to get a few stitches in the stocking although it feels the deadline is creeping up. I also did a little of the winter carrousel horse (not pictured) but let me tell you, hand drawn designs of Teresa wentzler are hard to follow and progress is slow. I hope you are all enjoying bit of nice weather.// Profité dune nouvelle semaine de congé pour jouer non stop à Fallout 4, j’avais besoin d’une semaine pas productive. J’ai quand même avancé la chaussette quelque peu, vu que Noël avance à grand pas. J’ai aussi avancé mon carrousel d’hiver de Teresa Wentzler un peu (pas de photo), mais le modèle étant dessiné à main levée, est assez difficile à lire. J’espère que vous passez un weekend ensoleillé.

Visited the folks in France which was long overdue after more than 3 years, enjoyed the warm weather and countryside. Can’t say I’m looking forward to going back to work, but got some stitches in. While I don’t knit, my mother and bro’s girlfriend do, so we’d all make some stitches and chat around a cuppa // Enfin pu visiter la famille après plus de trois ans. On a pu profiter d’un peu de soleil et de l’air de la campagne. J’en ai profité pour avancer mon point de croix avec ma mère et belle soeur qui tricotaient, autour d’un thé.

Thanks to the long Easter weekend I’ve managed to put a little more time in stitching. It was the easy thing to do when I couldn’t make my mind up about other activities. If only drawing or programming came with a chart too !! Cross stitch is my go-to since I’m always making progress just by following the instructions, never going backwards or suffering from art block. Guess that’s how I’ve stuck to it for now 20 years. How about you? What’s kept you stitching?// Le weekend de Pâques m’a permis d’avancer un peu comme je faisais page blanche devant mes dessins ou la programmation. Si seulement ces choses là venaient aussi avec un modèle ! Je pense que c’est ce qui me fait tjrs revenir au point de croix , j’avance tjrs, jamais à reculons. Grâce à ça je brode maintenant depuis maintenant 20 ans. Et vous … Qu’est-ce qui vous fait toujours reprendre l’aiguille ??

It was time to switch projects again, due to my lack of cross stitch mojo and having an annual Christmas stocking deadline. I was hoping to make more progress on Too Pooped before I had to put it away but time flies// Il était temps de changer de projet a nouveau. J’aurais voulu avancer Too Pooped un peu plus, mais n’ayant pas bcp envie de broder ces temps ci, il a fallu que je retourne à mon rituel annuel de chaussette de Noël, le temps passe vite et je n’aimerais pas me laisser devancer.

SAL – Too Pooped, 13/03

Turned a year older yesterday but wasn’t much in the mood to celebrate with all that’s happening in the world and work. I’ve too many projects and too little time. As you can see I drastically slowed down this month, as I’ve been more into gaming or trying to make progress on my game which is making slow but steady progress. Maybe I’ll have a demo in 5-6 years haha . // Soufflé mes bougies hier, mais pas pour autant été d’humeur à célébrer avec tout ce qu’il se passe en ce moment dans le monde et le travail. J’ai trop de projets et pas assez de temps. Comme vous pouvez le voir j’ai ralenti avec too pooped, pour avancer un petit peu sur mon jeu vidéo. Peut être j’aurais une démo dans 5-6 ans haha.

SAL – Too Pooped, 19/02

Now married for two weeks, things have quickly gone back to normal. It was short, a little bit stressful but it went well and we had a lovely weekend following it. I did receive a special gift from my mother in anticipation of the event, a ring cushion for the ceremony which I did not show before. // Maintenant mariés depuis deux semaines, la vie a repris son cours normal. La cérémonie a été courte et un peu stressante, mais tout s’est bien passé, clôture par un weekend relaxant .Je n’avais pas eu l’occasion de vous montrer un cadeau très spécial fait par ma mère

SAL – Happy Dance Midnight rendezvous 30/01

I’m happy to say I’ve now completed both cross stitch kits I « rescued » for my mom (the other one being the Victorian house). All that’s left is planning a trip to see the folks (no direct flights, having to look into going through Germany or Switzerland to get there… a real headache) since we haven’t seen each other for over 2 years thx to COVID. Plus, would be nice to have a belated celebration for our wedding which is actually next week. (As far as my partner is concerned after being engaged 2 years, this is just a formality, lol) To continue this SAL, I decided to resume Too Pooped as it was gifted to me several years back and looks quite quick to stitch. // Jai le plaisir de vous dire que j’ai mnt fini Midnight rendezvous, et avec ça, la maison victorienne que j’avais promis de broder pour ma mère ( les deux étaient sur toiles sombres). On ne s’est pas vu depuis plus de 2 ans, merci Covid, mais il reste encore à résoudre l’énigme de comment se rendre en France via l’Allemagne ou la Suisse vu qu’il n’y a plus de ligne directe, mais je compte bien voir ma famille pour lui rendre en main propre et avec ça, faire une petite fête pour célébrer en retard, notre mariage qui aura lieu la semaine prochaine. (Petit mariage, rien de bien folichon)

En ce qui concerne le SAL j’ai décidé de reprendre Too Pooped (cadeau danniv ya 3-4 ans) plutôt que laisser prendre la poussière et il a l’air assez rapide.
