I am really enjoying this design, the frame takes a bit of practice and the cat and I found a compromise. As you can see I had to roll the top a bit to keep it taught and am carrying down from where I was last time. // Je m’amuse bien avec ce nouveau motif et comme vous pouvez le voir j’ai du enrouler la partie que j’avais fait au début pour garder la tension mais j’avance bien!

SAL – A Happy dance ! Winter Carrousel, 17/03

After 1 year and a bit we have a finish! The snowflakes took longer than expected but the beading was quick. I have plans to block this piece and turn it into a banner but this will be for another time. // Après un peu plus d’1 an, j’ai terminé ! Les flocons ont pris du temps mais les perles c’était du rapide. J’ai pour projet d’en faire une bannière mais ça sera pour une autre fois.

Without further ado… tadah!!

While I have the other 3 horses to do I won’t rush into the next one quite yet. I have picked my next project, gift from my mom. And after reaching out to Avis who kindly provided some advice, treated myself for my 30th birthday to my first scroll frame as I want neater projects. I’m still getting used to it and the cat certainly isn’t helping…. She’s a bully and will push and attack me for a spot on my lap 😂 // Bien que j’ai les 3 autres chevaux, je ne vais pas me ruer dessus tout de suite et faire a la place un kit offert par ma mère pour changer. Je me suis aussi offerte mon tout premier cadre en bois pr mes 30 ans merci aux conseils de Avis. Je m’y habitue encore et le chat n’aide pas, elle m’agresse pour être sur mes genoux.

Still no happy dance! I was out for a week in Dehli as stated last time, which by the way was great. We had some outings and sightseeing mixed with working in the office which allowed for some face to face meetings. The week I was back, I slept most of it as it as I was very tired and had bad stomach pain from the food/water and excessive eating (since it was so tasty), so very little progress 😦 // Toujours pas fini rhaaa. Comme mentionné la dernière fois j’ai passé 1 semaine a Dehli, très bonne semaine d’ailleurs parsemé de tourisme et de réunions au bureau, mais la semaine d’après j’étais K.O et j’ai bcp dormi pour me remettre de maux de ventre liés à ma consommation d’eau et de nourriture là bas. C’était très bon mais je crois que j’avais beaucoup trop mangé.

I was otherwise preoccupied these last three weeks namely with work getting near a big deadline, and playing the games I got for Xmas. I will keep at it slowly but wont get much done by next update as I will be going to India for a week, meeting all my colleagues in person for the first time since I started 3 years ago. I still have the snowflakes and holly beads to do, let’s see how many updates it takes!// J’étais un peu préoccupée par d’autre activités ces temps-ci, gros projet travail en dernière ligne droite, et jouer aux jeux que j’ai eu à Noël. Je ne pense pas pouvoir bcp avancer d’ici là prochaine MAJ parce que je vais 1 semaine en Inde pour rencontrer mes collègues pour la première fois en 3 ans. C’est dommage parce que je n’ai plus que les flocons et les perles du houx a faire!!

I hope you all had a wonderful break at Christmas, I know I did. Last update I mentioned doing a gamejam which resulted in a mini submarine game where I’ve done all the artwork visible, done over the evenings early December. As well as this I’ve been gaming so not much cross stitch but it will be done soon, I promise! Mainly beads and filling in those circles now but I can’t work out what the pattern tries to describe.// J’espère que vous avez tous passé de bonnes vacances de Noël, moi oui. J’ai surtout joué a des jeux vidéo et également bossé deux semaines pdt mes soirées sur un petit jeu de sous marin avec mon frère. J’ai fait tout l’aspect artistique. En ce qui concerne le cheval il me reste principalement des perles et les ronds a finir, bientôt, promis!!

Not far off now but still too much to complete this kit in under a year. I’ve managed to sort almost everybody’s gifts for Christmas including MOTH’s extended family so now all that left is to get the Christmas tree up, wrap (a lot) and survive two more weeks of work before the break. I’m unlucky in that, what doesn’t get done now will have to be done in a rush, but…. That’s next year’s problem!! I’m also going to be attempting a « thinky games gamejam » with my brother, the goal being to create a game prototype in two weeks! Yes it sounds like a lot but I am in need of flexing some creative muscles.// Presque fini mais pas tout a fait assez pour terminer en 1 an. J’ai acheté presque tous mes kdos de Noël, plus qu’à emballer tout ça, installer le sapin et survivre encore deux semaines de travail. Malheureusement pour moi ce qui n’est pas fait cette année devra être fait très vite l’an prochain !! Je vais aussi tenter une « gamejam » de jeu de détective avec mon frère, ça consiste à faire un prototype de jeu vidéo en quelques jours/semaines histoire parce que créér me manque un peu.

I’m sure you can guess I’m itching to finish this. Border is done and back on the horse again, pun intended. I’m longing for a well earned break but that’ll have to be nearer Christmas. While winter is dull I like having an excuse to do nothing but stitch on the sofa,wrapped up warm, with a hot cup of tea and a lap cat.// Comme vous pouvez le constater, j’ai hâte de finir ce projet. La bordure est faite et de retour en selle. Fatiguée et vivement les vacances de Noël pour une pause bien méritée. L’avantage de l’hiver, c’est d’avoir une bonne excuse pour faire rien de toute la journée sauf broder sur le canapé, au chaud, avec un thé, et le chat sur les genoux.

Can’t believe it’s nearly Halloween already. This year has been pretty uneventful for me and I feel like I haven’t got much time to achieve anything of significance. I will perhaps be lucky enough to complete this before the new year but we’ll see// Déjà presque Halloween , c’est fou! J’ai pas l’impression d’avoir fait grand chose cette année mais je peux au moins essayer de finir ce cheval avant le nouvel an. On verra ce que l’avenir nous réserve !

SAL – Winter Carrousel, 01/10

Time has gone past really quickly. My energy levels have been quite low meaning I traded a mouse and keyboard for the needle and hoop. Still got a bit of border to get done before I’ll finish the horse. What I am quite pleased with is I’ve not had the urge to switch with another kit, I am genuinely enjoying this one no matter how long it takes. I have high hopes I’ll do the full set in due time. // Dernières semaines sont vite passées. Moins d’énergie alors le fil et l’aiguille sont revenus remplacer souris et clavier. J’ai encore un peu de bordure a faire avant de m’attaquer au cheval, mais je ne m’en lasse pas au moins. C’est même sûr que je finirais la série complète un jour tellement je prend plaisir avec celui là.

Not much progress this time as I’ve been programming or playing games. Summer was dreadful but it’s been quite warm lately so not much in the mood to stitch, I can’t believe time is flying so fast I already need to plan for Christmas. // Pas beaucoup de progrès cette foisci j’ai plutôt été absorbée par la programmation et le jeu vidéo. De plus après l’été pourri on a eu un début de septembre très chaud. C’est fou a quel point le temps passe vite , je me retrouve déjà à faire des projets pour Noël.
