SAL – Winter Carrousel, 26/03

Corner of border definitely done now, I thought I earned working on the horse itself a little bit. I’m hoping alternating between both will keep me motivated. Who knows how long this project will take at this pace! // Après avoir fini le coin j’ai décidé de me récompenser en brodant un peu le cheval. Peut être que j’arriverais à finir ce modèle a une vitesse raisonnable !

Almost forgot to post so a bit late to the party. Hand is getting better but only because I’ve slown down and stitch with my off hand for now. SAL – Winter Carrousel, 22/01

I’ve decided to take a break from stockings and not stitch on a deadline. Part of the reason being my wrist pain is caused by X stitching too much and I’ve felt it after doing so much in December, so I have to be more careful in future . I did feel quite drawn to it lately however, so I’ve tried right handed or two handed and will see how things go, but the splint is staying on. Here is what I’ve decided to work on for the SAL, one of four carrousel horses from Theresa Wentlzer, and I hope to get all 4 done one day but I will take my time, promise. All my best to Helen who hasn’t been feeling well recently. // Je prend une pause chaussette de Noël. Poignet gauche n’apprécie pas broderie intensive et j’en ai bcp fait en décembre alors j’essaie de ralentir. Je voulais tout de même broder ce cheval de carrousel (hiver) d’une série de quatre saisons par Teresa Wentlzer. Parfois brodé en droitier, parfois deux mains (moins de mouvement) je vais faire plus attention et garder l’attelle pour le point de croix dorénavant.

Happy new year and another happy dance !!!

I didn’t think I would be posting so soon before the usual 3 week SAL update but I had a UFO I’d been meaning to finish for years. I took it with me over the Christmas celebrations and spent the remainder of my holiday working on it.

I’m celebrating my second happy dance this year just in time for new years with Too Pooped finished, and I now have the leasure to pick the next UFO of my choice for the SAL. As a bonus, the finished stocking which I think is my 7th overall

Je ne pensais pas poster aussi tôt mais j’ai décidé de finir Too Pooped après l’avoir démarré ya 3-4 ans, je l’ai pris avec moi pour les vacances de Noël et fini juste a temps pour le nouvel an! Ça me fait deux projets terminé cette année avec la chaussette de Noël et je vais maintenant pouvoir reprendre un projet plus rigolo pour la MAJ habituelle. En bonus, les finitions de la chaussette, je crois que celle-ci est la septième en tout!

My plan for next year is to look at getting two cross stitches with cats framed, as I’ve been putting it off again and again. What about you??

Pour l’année prochaine j’ai décidé que j’allais encadrer au moins deux de mes projets avec des chats, puisque je ne fais que repousser et repousser. Et vous, quels sont vos projets?

SAL – Christmas sled, Happy Dance !!!

Am proud to share a little happy dance !! I’ve yet to finish into a stocking, but that might have to wait as this weekend we were busy having a friends early Christmas Gettogether. Each person cooked a dish or side dish that is considered a tradition back home (we’re a mix of europeans and british) and a random secret santa… But can I tell you something though, I am SO RELIEVED this is finally done, I think I need a break from Dimensions Gold designs for a short while and can’t wait to resume a UFO/// Et une nouvelle chaussette de finie !! Il etait temps, je commencais a en avoir un peu ras le bol (le fil metallique en ligne droites GRRR) Avec un peu de chance je ferais la finition bientot mais weekend rempli avec repas de Noel entre amis (chacun ammenant une specialite de son pays; On etait un melange d’europeens et britanniques) et surtout besoin de repos. Je ne compte pas reprendre de Dimensions Gold de sitot, reprendre un en-cours serait pas mal !

SAL – Christmas sled, 20/11

Only one more update left before Christmas…. I better get cracking. I’ve the heel and lots of gold couching left to do and of course kept the name for last. I was hoping to a have a bit more done today but luckily as I won’t need to send it, I’ll have till Christmas to sew it into a stocking. /// Plus qu’une seule MAJ avant Noël et j’ai encore pas mal à faire. Il me reste le talon et bcp de fil doré et bien sûr j’ai gardé le nom pour la fin. Comme je vais remettre cette chaussette en main propre j’aurais jusqu’à Noël même pour faire l’assemblage mais j’aimerais ne pas en arriver là!

SAL – Christmas sled, 30/10

Halloween is almost upon us and it just dawned on me how I haven’t done anything Halloween themed in over a decade… But perhaps I must’nt think of new projects when I already have such a long list of kits to do haha. I felt very behind last update and gave myself a push to do a lot more for this update. Half stitches make it seem like more hours than it really was and this time around I’ve left most of the backstitching for last, but I am more confident now. Other than that I dont have any special plans. How are you spending your Halloween? // Déjà Halloween et ça m’a fait réalisé que je n’ai rien fait dans ce thème depuis des années. Mais il vaut peut être mieux ne pas penser a ces choses là, et se concentrer sur les kits que j’ai déjà. Je me suis forcée à broder un peu plus cette fois, mais c’est surtout du demi point alors le progrès est plus impressionnant que les faits. Jai laissé beaucoup de point arrière à faire en dernier cette fois mais je garde courage. Sinon je ne fais rien de spécial pour Halloween, et vous??

Still trying to keep cross stitch to a minimum to avoid carpal tunnel flare ups but also just in a gaming phase. I do hope my current pace won’t make me miss the deadline !! /// Toujours au ralenti pour ne pas me faire mal aux poignets, et surtout que je suis en mode jeu vidéo ces temps ci, j’espère que mon rythme actuel ne va pas me faire finir en retard!!
